Millie is a 3 year old Jack Russell Terrier cross Springer and such a fantastic little dog.
Don’t be fooled by her petite stature- what she lacks in height she more than makes up for in personality. Millie definitely prefers ladies and initially is very submissive but soon warms to you and will make a fantastic loyal companion. She will need some time to settle into a new home and get to know you. She has bundles of energy, and is very intelligent with a typical stubborn terrier streak! She knows sit, wait, paw and I think would really enjoy an activity such as agility. She is surprisingly strong and lead walking was hard work with her weaving and pulling, particularly bad when walking alongside other dogs, but is responding very well to walking on a fig 8 lead and better when lead training on her own.

Her off lead recall has not been fully tested as she has been in season since being in foster and flaunting herself shamelessly, however recall at home or out on the long line is fab. Good with other dogs in the foster home, has fallen in love with our Cocker and will be ideally looking for a playful young dog to live with in her new home. On walks she is submissive at other dogs approaching her but once introductions have been done she’s keen to play. She can be possessive over balls and toys if they are being thrown, always wants to be the one to get them and can be quite vocal but it’s just noise. She is good with children but would suggest over 8s please as she does have bad habits such as jumping up, and barging at doorways.

Millie came from a loving family environment, but due to a change in circumstances was being left for long periods of time and consequently has some separation anxiety. This has improved greatly in the short time she has been in foster, but new owners will need to be prepared to continue working on this with her, and at home most of the time please. She is not at all destructive but does bark and get herself wound up. She is up to date with worming and flea treatments and soon to have the last part of her vaccination course. She is also chipped. She is currently in season so will go with a clause in her contract that she must be neutered as soon as your vet is happy to do so.

In foster in Hampshire adoption is subject to meet and greet, homecheck and adoption donation of £250. Applications via the forms section of website please.
