Badger is an 11 year old male Springer cross Labrador, and Cheeky is a 14 year old female Parson Russell Terrier who are in foster in Chippenham, Wiltshire, waiting for someone to offer them a new home together.
Badger and Cheeky are really lovely dogs who took only a couple of days to settle in foster care. They love to be around their family, Badger playing fetch, and Cheeky snuggling. They do like to have company but are fine when left for up to 4 hours occasionally. Cheeky will whine on and off when left though. Badger is fine with dogs once introduced, but Cheeky can be a little wary of them.
They need a home together where they are your only dogs. We don’t know how they would be with cats. They don’t seem to pay much attention to cats they see on walks. Cheeky and Badger should be fine around older children who are used to dogs. They haven’t lived with children before but were used to having children from toddlers upwards visit their previous home. They both love to go out for fun walks.
Badger pulls a bit on his lead at times through excitement. Cheeky walks well and doesn’t pull much. They currently have 2 short walks of about 10 minutes, plus a longer walk of about 30 minutes, each day. Badger travels well in the car, as does Cheeky, but Cheeky will whine a little bit at times. Badger is a fun-loving boy who absolutely adores playing fetch, and having belly rubs and cuddles!
Cheeky is a sweet older lady who loves to snooze! Badger doesn’t like busy roads with lots of passing traffic. Other than that their foster carer hasn’t come across anything they don’t like. We don’t know how they feel about fireworks though. Badger and Cheeky need to be rehomed together. They would like a home somewhere quiet with people who will give them lots of love and attention and who don’t mind dogs getting on the sofa or humans’ bed.
Having said that, Badger will not go upstairs at all. They are both neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated. Cheeky has had a lump removed from her leg, which proved to be benign. Badger has a fatty lump on his chest which is nothing to worry about.
